The Installation

The installation consisted of an Alpine CDA-9855 controlling an Alpine CHA-S634 6-CD changer with an Alpine KCA-420i iPod interface mounted in the stock BMW location, MB Quart QSD216 speakers in front, JL Audio VR600-CXi speakers in the rear and an Alpine SWX-1242D subwoofer mounted in a custom fabricated fiberglass sub box fitted in the right rear of the trunk. The system is powered by JL Audio 300/4, 300/2 and 500/1 amplifiers mounted under the rear deck. Additionally, a Motorola S9642 Bluetooth hands-free car kit, Valentine 1 radar detector with remote display and a PAC SWI-X universal steering wheel remote were installed. Dynamat was applied to the doors and the trunk to further deaden the BMW to insure the best possible sound.
